About This Quote

Drama is a very important but often misunderstood concept. To understand it, we must first understand that drama is not just a theatrical experience. The word comes from the Greek “drauma” meaning “something to be feared.” In a theatrical context, drama refers to a play in which the characters have a struggle and in which the outcome of their struggle is unpredictable. This is in contrast to a play where characters have a clear goal and know how it will end. Drama can take place in any setting, from a small town to a big city.

In the play, "The Crucible," by Arthur Miller, for example, the setting is an small village, called Salem Village. In this town, there are many people with different beliefs and perspectives on life and they all live together in harmony until one day a mysterious woman appears and begins judging people based on their actions. As this plays out over the next few years, many of the most important events in American history occur in this town. In the military, drama takes place on a much grander scale than that portrayed in the play by Arthur Miller.

In fact, some would argue that military dramas are simply glorified war movies. However, just like war movies, military dramas provide great entertainment while also providing important lessons about how we should deal with conflict on our military bases and overseas. In 2005, ABC aired "Wives," about three women whose lives had been shaped by their husbands' deployments to Iraq or Afghanistan: Emily (Krysten Ritter), Jennifer (Natasha Henstridge) and Susan (Breanne Hill). While it received mixed reviews from viewers at its debut on Jan.

8-9 , it did receive some attention from critics, including one from Slate magazine who called it an "exciting new TV drama" where "the stakes are high." This type of drama can occur anywhere; during any time period; and it can be seen by anyone who has an interest in seeing such things unfold onscreen before him or her. A good example of this kind of drama would be "The Walking Dead," which tells the story of survivors trying to survive after the zombie apocalypse has wiped out most of humanity--both human and zombie alike--in Washington D.C., Atlanta and other parts of the country.
